Corporate social responsibility - a new trend in hospital accounting?

Abstract

In recent years the idea of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been a subject of intensified interest. Therefore the role of accounting in implementation of social responsibility became a topic of frequent discussions. The paper focuses on CSR issues in the context of health care (areas that should be covered and actions/initiatives that might be taken within it). The author considers the role of accounting in the CSR realization – namely appropriate reporting about social, environmental and economic activities of hospitals
