Abstract

The aim of thisstudy isa comparative assessment ofthe post-crisisEurozone countriesincluding theperiod2008-2013. The study involved17 countries, membersof the Eurozoneas ofthe end of 2013.Theessentialpart of the surveyestimates were madepreviouslyproposed, multifactorial, complexmacroeconomicconditionindex (MCI) in three variants. The basis forthe constructionof the instrument ismiseryindex. In this case,it has beenexpanded andqualitativelyadjustedso that it ismore appropriatein relationto the contemporaryglobaleconomic conditions. The negative effects of the crisis were experienced by all Eurozone member states, yet each to a different degree. The crisis brought about a disturbance in the process of nominal and real convergence, which is so crucial for the stability of the European Economic and Monetary Union.
