Abstract

The aim of the article is to present problems regarding different types of risk taken while programming urban revitalization processes. An attempt has been made to shed light on sources and reasons of the risk regarding programming urban revitalization processes. The subject of discussion is the economic risk of revitalization of HafenCity (Hamburg / Germany). The paper describes the evolution of transition in the area, the risk of architectural and urban transformations and the possibility of limitation of this risk. The use of study case in the analysis is justified given the poor state of the art in this research area and the need of recognition of the research problem in real conditions.
