Business Process Offshoring and Supply Chain Maturity

Abstract

Over the last years business process offshoring has significantly gained on importance. It offers many possibilities and is an enabler for smart supply chain management. Modern supply chains are becoming supply networks. In such conditions risk, information and social capital management are becoming crucial issues. These issues are very important for the efficiency and competitiveness of contemporary supply chains. This paper summarizes how supply chains incorporating business process offshoring in their strategy should be managed to ensure their proficiency and maturity. Conclusions presented herein are derived from the results of research carried out in different types of companies operating in various industries. The discussion forms a balance between a theoretical analysis and some managerial tips.
