CSR in Financial Institutions in the Aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis

Abstract

e primary aim of the paper is to create a foundation for the analysis of the prerequisites for a sustainable nancial institution, whose activity is fully consistent with the requirements of sustainable development and contributes to its implementation. e specic objective is the analysis the impact of the global nancial crisis on the evolution of CSR in nancial institutions. Conducted analysis indicates that the proper regulatory environment is crucial for sustainability of the nancial sector and preventing social externalities of its improper functioning. Public authorities should regulate and supervise CSR in the nancial sector and create favourable conditions for dissemination of social responsibility ideas and concepts among nancial institutions that support the introduction of e‚ective regulations.
