AbstractThe idea and practice of temporary work indicate that it is the solution that com-panies use in various situations related to the changeability of employees’ needs. The key problem is how many and what kind of temporary employees can be employed for the ben-efit of or without detriment to the organization’s effectiveness. As a result of the research carried out earlier, the authors pointed to three important factors in the optimization of the employment structure: labor cost, labor productivity, and professional experience. The re-search presented in this paper uses the data of a production company whose activity has in-creased the volatility of the market and initiated a drop in demand for basic products thro-ugh the introduction of newer technological products. Therefore, in order to make labor costs more flexible in the context of a changing demand for employees, cooperation was started with temporary work agencies. Analysis of the above-mentioned variables provided the basis for answering the basic question related to the scope of temporary work: how to determine the optimal flexible structure of employment for employees? An important value of the publication is therefore the presentation of the methodology, allowing the construc-tion of an optimal employment structure.
